Hello people!

 

I have som problem with my Amundsen satnav I have in my car. 

Before, and in the winter, I have really bad problem that the screen was freezing. It took probably 45 minutes before it was working again. I drive to the car-dealer and get some smoking hot, and new update. That works good for now.

 

But to something else, I still have som problems. Have someone inside here the same problem, and what is the reason?

 

1. When I planning a new route, I come to the place where I can write in the destination and things. Then the satnav is planning the route. There is my problem. Then its just going freezing. I can't interrupt the planning at all. If I turn off and on the engine, it's all normal again. (Picture 1)

 

2. I also have the Maxi-dot infoscreen. If you go to "navigation" on the Maxi-dot, you should get guidance for the route, or a globus if no routeplanning is active. Sometimes its noe showing anything of this in the Maxi-dot. And it's seems like I get trouble to planning a new route when this is happening, that I explain in the first point. Does someone have an explonation about this? (Picture 2 and 3)

 

3. Sometimes my map is freezing in Germany, Wolfsburg. I think that is strange, because i live in Norway. It's a realle big swipe to hit the Wolfsburg. It happens maybe 5-6 times in a year.

I think it's quite a common problem. Looks like you may need to re install the maps on the SD card and do a software update maybe.

I don't know if its exactly the same issue you are having but I had major problems with my navigation. If I had a rout planned and then added or made a change it froze saying planning route.

The spinner stopped and nothing happened. I hade to reboot the navigation (hold power button for about 10 sec) or turn off the ignition for a while.

 

I had my car at the dealer about 5 times and the last time they had the car for a week. They tried reinstalling/upgrade software, they replaced the screen but what solved it for me was when they replaced the main unit (in the glove compartment). Since then everything have been working fine.

They told me that they have a lot of cars with this problem, booth Skoda and VW.

 

 

Regarding the Germany thing... You can set a start point for demo mode. I think default is somewhere in Germany. You can change that to Stockholm (or somewhere in Norway if you like ). I guess it goes to that address when it doesn't have GPS signal, when you switch to demo or something else goes wrong.

Mine was fine until I decided to update the maps now it turns itself on and off intermittently
