An Australian perspective

I'm surprised they didn't do the How many slabs can you get in the boot at the drive-in offy test.

That's how my uncle bases his car buying on!

That reviewer I'm pretty sure didn't drive the Superb much, if at all.

The 4x4 280 Estate is just the car for the few Aussies I know Down Under.

Nah!

They drive V8 dinosaurs.

Some of us got kultcha.

Considering they are complaining about a stiff ride, I guess they never drove any other European car ever?

Does the Aus spec Superb have DCC? I recall reading about the suspension being lowered by 15mm which is the sports setup. I wouldn't want my Superb permanently in Sport DCC mode.

Also, the Golf R powertrain is different to the Superb: 280PS vs 300PS in the Golf so the former will be slower than the latter.

Australians have the greatest choice of the world's cars than any other country.......so many chasing a relatively small market.

To succeed in Oz it's gotta be good and incredibly good value for money.

A Superb UT should work then. :)

Well as an imported Aussie and a born Kraut, I have a Superb ordered.

I chose the 2.0l 162KW version.

Just plain white Sedan/Hatchback with all options fitted.

Sunroof, Tech Pack, Comfort Pack + 5year warranty and capped price service extension.

Just ordered it last week, so it will be a while.

No, we don't all drive V8's, but I admit that my son owns a V8 Thunder Ute.

The choice fell between the Kia Optima GT and the Skoda Superb.

One test drive (in the Wagon version as they didn't have the Sedan), made the choice easy.

Now I just have to wait 3~6months.....LOL

^^^it seems to me the S Koreans are getting a bit exy these days, making European cars more affordable.

Dumbarses aren't bringing in the 190 TDI 4x4 S3 to AU.  I was gonna replace my S2 TDI 4x4.  Now I'm not.

Is it perhaps more to do with the diesel certification process possibly being in obeyance until the dust settles, I wonder.

Apparently the 'world standard' applies from 2017 in any case.

Nah they're bringing in the 2WD 190 TDI, but the only 4WD is the petrol one.  It's not a compliance thing, it's either shortage of drivetrains in the supply chain or a positioning thing against Passat, A5 etc.
