FL Yeti horn access

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, I have researched this subject..honest.

Can anyone tell me how to gain access to the horn (which I want to replace) on the newer face lift versions please?  I have seen the videos on youtube but they all seem to be prior to the facelift.

Thanks in advance.

Geoff

Remove the left wheel housing liner and you will find the horn.

This is where it is placed on the pre-FL, but I would think it must be in the same area on the FL.

I believe there are two horns, one either side.  I had to have one replaced when it failed - my incompetent local Skoda dealers managed to replace the healthy one at the first attempt, then got the right one second time around.

EEK! It hadn't occurred to me that all that stuff is under there looking very vulnerable!

I managed to clout a grass bank (when off road) with the driver's side of the car & briefly folded the O/S corner of the bumper under, but it sprang out again immediately. Couldn't believe there was no damage, but I suspect if it'd been the N/S that had made contact, that "stuff" would have suffered significant damage. Lucky me!

Yes, there are indeed two horns.
I found this pdf if it can be of any use:

Thanks for the replies guys -especially the PDF.  I am away for a week or so but have a wheel off and look when I get back.  if I proceed I will document what I do for others.

Horn on my L&K facelift yeti failed recently. Fuses all ok. Local dealer suggested check all circuits from steering wheel. Checked function on all aspects and lo! - horn working. Why/ what I have no idea .....

Failing clock spring?

Thanks. Indeed seems to be the answer. Now that I know what a clock spring is and how it works I can understand what has probably happened. Full rotation of steering wheel and horn sounds in all positions.

Thanks again.

Total horn failure. Skoda dealer finds BOTH horns failed. No explanation as to why.

So has he replaced them or just saying that they both do not respond to the horn push?

Both replaced under warranty. Excellent customer service from Heritage Skoda, Yeovil.
