Well, i picked it up yesterday afternoon. got in it argh!!! its sooooo nice:) being a 2.0 getting into it from a 1.4 16v im loveing the pull of it through the country roads and it grips nicely even being 11" longer and running on 15" alloys than the conventional hatch. Racey lace even loved it (she owns a white octy rs remaped the lot... for those who dont know) its pokey when i need it to be silky smooth cruising in 5th and a proper little goer in 2nd 3rd and 4th! it spins a little bit tho coming off 1st gear tho the traction control kicks in. fuel consumption is actually better than my 1.4:confused: driven respectivly

its just such a nice car its got lots of nice toys and bits heated seats electric windows all round 2.0 engine

for what it is being a Combi i was a little hesitant but really it is a nice car.

The +50 odd Nm of torque over the 1.4 must be fun too

Its surprising to hear that the fuel consumption is better than the 1.4 16V - my flatmate has a 1.4 16V and it seems to get v.good economy, around 40mpg - maybe I am just used to my Octy vRS (30mpg when driven normally, don't ask about the economy when driven hard though :eek: )

Fuel consumption doesnt surprise me, my dads 2.0 GTI was surprisingly economical. 40 MPG always.

Surprised you didnt go for the vRS though, it feels a lot quicker and is more economical still, not much more insurance either.

second hand 6600k .....tell me where i can get a vrs that price:rolleyes: ? maybe in a few years but for now the 2.0 is pritty nice!
