Squeak

Featured Replies

The vrs has had a lovely squeak coming from the front near side.

As it was appearing when on uneven surface and its lowered I presumed it was the farb bushes. Removes it yesterday and copper greased it up. While I was there I checked for play in everything. All was good and solid.

Squeak is still there though! Any other common things in that side? Although that's where the noise sounds like it's coming from, we all know noises travel.

I'm thinking maybe interior trim/dash, misaligned door?

There's a lot of things it could be, just not sure where to start!

I have searched that squeak down on various vRS.

Tried everything, asked people with good hearing to travel with me, tapping and listening.

Sometimes polishing the top passenger side lid has helped, and sometimes Lubing the Door Rubber drivers side including the top seal.

Red Grease, Silicon or Tesco Tyre and Bumper Renovator.

But in the end i open the bonnet spray some Maintenance Spray around the area of the Hinge, and bulk head and the squeak usually goes.

Not technical or scientific, but maybe give it a try.

I'll give it a go. Certainly can't hurt!

You Sir, are a legend!

Worked a treat. But of degreaser around the bonnet hinges and latch. Then a bit in the door hinges for good measure and I now have a squeak free car!
