Custom Door Cards

Featured Replies

As above, has anyone ever made or had made custom door cards? Really dislike the plastic ones in my Fabia and fancy something different.

Some people retrim there's in leather using companies like seat surgeons

Thinking of giving a spare set a retrim myself for something different.

Probably start with the foam backed vinyl stuff used for headlining....

That's what I was thinking.

When I did my parcel shelf I used wadding to give it the padded feel

Would be a little trickier to do a door trim but not impossible. It's fairly straight forward to remove the door furniture like the arm rest and handles.

I think something like this would look good, just nice and simple although not sure what would happen with the window switches etc.

Whatever is used, you need it thin... And a good enough set of eyes, tools and hands to tuck the edges in properly between the trim lines.... Unless you're completely decontructing the door card before rebuilding. Biggest carbuncle is the door pull, nasty plastic thing... But apart from painting or dying it, not a lot can be done.

Here are the ones I had done by a local upholsterer on my original Fabia vRS
