'Business Pack' on Irish Ambition models

Featured Replies

Maybe this has been there for a while but I only noticed it now - looking at the latest price list for Ireland and notice that a 'Business Pack' is now available as an option on the Ambition (SE) models. This adds alcantara interior and 17" Zeus wheels and rest assist for €995. Sat nav still appears to be an option at €453 however which I think should really be included if they were offering a business pack.

Bi-xenons are already included on the Ambition in Ireland however cloth upholstery and 16" wheels were only available until now so this pack provides a pretty decent spec now. The cloth only option was a step back from the previous SII Ambition and I know a few who were put off by this.

That's €33k for a 1.6tdi Ambition Business which is good value IMO. I assume this model will probably be the main seller here now.

That seems good but if we're comparing it to the SE Business it's still missing features such as Sunset Glass & Front & Rear Parking Sensors and as you mention the Amundsen sat nav unit. Pity the SE / SE Business doesn't have Xenons over here!

An Ireland Ambition is also missing the below compared to a SE Business from the PDF following a quick scan.

Rear foot well lighting

Illuminated vanity mirror on driver and passenger side visors

Exterior mirrors with memory function

Auto dimming rear view mirror

It should solve a few spec headaches for those moving from old model and makes me regret ordering ordering early for January delivery as my last Superb had alcantara.  I had Amundsen sat nav in the last car too but much prefer the sat nav apps available through Smartlink.  I don't (as yet) see any point in paying for inbuilt sat nav although its early days.

Having got Smartlink - using Google Maps at Sat Nav, my take on it is the factory sat nav is a more robust solution...   ie - Data coverage is required, connection with phone sometime drops.

All early days and im only 110 miles in.

Parking sensors are standard (rear) alright -the brochure might not include everything but it's listed here alright. This price list compares the various specs. You can see there are differences between UK and Irish specs

I suppose it's swings and roundabouts with the xenons versus sat nav which appears to be the main difference in the business spec. Personally I'd take the xenons and daytime LED over the sat nav as I think the LEDs transform the car. In fact, we will rarely see a new Superb with halogens over here as the Active (S) spec is not usually chosen, with the exception of some budget fleet/hire cars.

I've had good experiences with Navmii Free on Android as it uses downloaded maps so can be used without a data connection, just needs the phone GPS.  That said, I haven't used Smartlink apps in great depth so I don't yet know how seamlessly they integrate with radio etc.

My android phone does not support mirror link, only android auto of which Navmii is not a supported app. so cant comment really
