Citigo loan car for the weekend

Featured Replies

I have been having a few 'issues' with my Octavia recently, and dropped it off earlier in the week at the main dealer. They gave me the keys to a 1.0 - 3 cyl Citigo to use. We were planning a trip down to the west country for a few days, with a young child for the first time. I wasn't overly keen on taking such a small car on a long 450 mile round trip, but we have just returned tonight without any drama.

What a lovely car it is! I am so impressed with how comfortable and enjoyable it was to drive and it cruised along the M5 with ease. In many ways I think it was more refined than my Octavia. I enjoyed driving it very much.

The space, although tight, was manageable and the performance from the little engine quite remarkable.

Well done to all who have purchased one! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to friends and family... if it wasn't for the requirement to have a big boot for work I think I would be more than happy to trundle around in one myself...

I went from a Saab 9 5 Aero 265bhp to my citigo for cheap motoring for a few years. I did my research but still thought it was going to be something I would 'put up with' rather than enjoy. I couldn't have been more wrong, loving every minute of driving it daily, including a fair few long motorway journeys. It's very refined and comfortable and although you could never call it speedy it is certainly nippy and there are only a few occasions when I have wanted a bit more grunt. And it's so economical, it's everything I wanted and more. A few little niggles such as no central locking 'locked' indicator, lack of electric window controls on the drivers side for the passenger side and one that does annoy me daily is the lack of steering wheel audio controls. With the excellent media functionality of the PID display it seems silly that these controls weren't offered as an option. However these are minor gripes and I smile every time I drive it :-)

Last autumn did Yorkshire - Baden-Baden - Switzerland - Burgundy - Yorkshire..... beep beep....

Cracked the ton on the autobahn, went up and down some proper hills.
