Hi guys,

New here as I'm about to buy a 2007 MK2 Octavia 1.6 petrol automatic. It's a nice machine with only 53k on the clock (national car test miles confirm) from a single elderly owner (few dings on the bodywork).

I've dug as deep as I possibly can to find if this model has a timing belt or a chain, I totally forgot to ask when I was testing the car last week. Hopefully someone might be able to help?

Hi my Skoda Octavia mk2 is1.6 fsi chain driven.  Its engine code is BLF. Hope this helps.

It might be 1,6 MPI too.

It's belt driven.
