Yeti Soft Roading- Mid Wales

Featured Replies

Few pics i took on BH Monday while doing a bit of 'Soft Roading' in Mid Wales. Surprised by the amount of snow that had fallen the day/night before. Quite a few large puddles to er... negotiate ;)

Great views though.

Looks a quality day

Were in mid Wales?

Trying to recognise where that was.

Came back from Corris this afternoon, and there was about an inch of snow on the top towards Dylife.

We had a few hours on some of the 'green lanes' around the Nant-y-Moch Resevoir.

Water was a little too deep to progress to far on one of them so will wait for it to dry out a bit.

At least when you wade out to check the depth of the water before driving through it, you don't have to worry about the crocodiles. Something to be thankful for!

Ah ha! Now I recognise it.

The lane in the last 2 pictures you would not have got very far on, unless they have rebuild the wash-out along it. Last time I did it with some friends we had to winch a Disco through it!

A lot of the lanes around here have taken a pounding this winter, with the amount of rain we have had, and there is some very severe erosion in places. I suspect that it will need volunteers to repair them as neither County Council are that "keen" on spending money!

For anyone who wants a good tarmac drive the road from Ponterwyd around the Nant Yr Moch Hydro reservoir and down to the coast road is spectacular

Yeap, done that lots of times, cleobury - corris via rhyader, elan valley devils bridge etc down to tal-y-bont as a variant to the route !

Great route!
