Getting my SEL 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG estate in Race Blue soon

Somewhere in my garage I have VAG/COM discs and cables (for a 56 plate Octavia II 1.9 DSG Ambiente) bought from Ross Tech about 8 years ago.

If I can dig the VAG/COM out of my garage what updates does the software need and what cables will I need?

Found the cables today and have updated to VCDS 15.7.4.

Haven't used it on my present car but will may twiddle with 2nd rear fog light - cornering front fogs - DRL rear lights and dipping passenger mirror on reverse - I say may. Will read guides within this forum very thoroughly first.

Just as an afterthought has anyone been brave enough to admit to bricking parts of their car using VCDS unwisely?

low battery indicated remove battery check voltage if 3v clean battery around the area where the contacts touch and the contacts also isopropal will do refit battery will save a new one

Have come to use the A/C for the first time this past week and noticed that pressing the button for the recirculating air doesn’t appear to work. Button presses but nothing happens it doesn’t light up and stays off Also through the media center doesn’t do anything, wondering if anyone has come across this before? Or is it a trip to Skoda?

Hi all, finally got around to getting some new shoes ordered for the girl. I'm getting a set of Hankook Ventus Evo K137 235/45 ZR18 98Y XL put onto the Pegasus alloys. I was considering changing out the locking wheel nut for just a regular nut? Which then prompted the second question, I picked up a set of Alcar 9021 17inch Steelies for Winter Tyres, do I need to run seperate nuts due to the alloy v steel nature? What it says on the tin, really; recently my oil warning light came on, flashed a few times, made a really loud intermittent beeping sound, and then turned off again. This happened several times during a journey, but actually stopped after a little while. I checked the oil level, and its fine, so I reckon it's an issue with the oil pressure sensor/switch (I did get an OBD tool, but that came up as no error codes, so I'm really in the dark here).
