Got a very small oil leak on the front of the engine block by the CPS.  For ~£25 I'll replace it for peace of mind and to see if it's any better. Can I double check that this is the correct part number?

There's an 0-ring there that is worth about 20c - you might be able to get a replacement from a bearing or hydraulics store.  They leak all the time.  Put a smear of silicone sealant around the right angle of the sensor (the bit that aligns with the machined bevel in the head).

 

Like this guy did but don't put any around the bolt hole &  wipe the excess off as it looks messy.

Cool, I'll try that, thanks.  The OEM CPS is about £35, so if it's just a new O ring that's needed I'd much rather that first.

 

I watched another of this guy's vids yesterday, and I don't think he was happy when I said he sounds like Mr Mackey from South Park

I haven't had a chance to sort this yet, but the leak is not bad.  I'm going to be replacing my sump pan soon (which I have) so will the sealant for that do the job for this too?

I don't know.  I've never seen the sealant for the sump.

I can't see why not, as the stuff that he's using in that vid is an aftermarket alternative that many favour for sump pan sealing. I just thought I'd best check first
