Octavia Mk2 (2007) Wing Mirror replacement (Driver)

Hi

So I am trying to replace this wing mirror.

I've followed     http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/47196-how-to-remove-octy-ii-door-cards-speaker-sizes/ to get the door card off (Staggered at how much brute force was required!)

Now I cant figure out how to remove the black plastic cover that hides the wind mirror attachment.

All I can find is 'remove the cover at it will be obvious how to take the mirror off' I am sure it will but only once Ive got the effing cover off.

There is clearly a small plastic pin on the RH side (as you look at it) which maybe rotates to get it off but it feels like there is a plastic clip / screw behind it somewhere but its the usual problem - I don.t want to use too much force and break it
