Hi can anybody give me some advice as I'm new to this site just I have a fabia sdi 03 and as I'm driving it's making a noise but as soon as I turn the steering a couple inches to the left then the noise goes away and I have changed the front wheels but still the same and I have jacked it up and no play on the wheels so please anybody had same problem thank you for any help

What sort of noise is it?

It's like a sort of grinding noise but av put all new pads and disc's on the front and it doesn't seem like a wheel bearing as there's no play on it and if I move the steering a fraction one way then the noise stops

Are you sure it's not the rear drums? When I first got my Fab there was a build up of rust on the rim of the drums which was catching on the backplate. It would come and go when I turned the steering. Taking off the drums and chipping away the rust and cleaning it all up solved the issue.

The noise is coming from the front passenger wheel so I think probably best trying 2 new wheel bearings as when I go over a road or speed bump and the wheel moves up then the noise stops if you know what I mean so it can only be the bearing just it's doing my head in as had the car on ramps and jacks but still can't find the problem
