A few months a go my salesmen told me that the Octavai RS does not get the DSG gearbox. The Dutch importer told me the same. Because I need an automatic gearbox for my wife I had to look for another car. Does anybody knows why the RS does not get DSG? It would have been great to get another Octavia.

At the moment you cant buy the GTi with DSG either apparently. DSG production has been given solely to the A5 Passat to cope with orders.

3 years down the line is going to be good... think of how many cheap used cars there is going to be around in VAG if there are so many being produced now.

I dare say they will offer it with DSG eventually -- it'll be another way to freshen the car when it's been on sale for a while.

I've driven an A3 2.0TFsi with DSG and it was fantastic!

I took a testdrive in the Golf GTI with DSG and it was very good. Nevertheless I did not order the Golf. It is a shame that Audi, VW and Seat can profit from DSG, but not Skoda.
