Standard VRS Rear Carrier bolt size

Featured Replies

So - got the front brake discs and pads changed this morning.. dead easy and straight on. So moved onto the rears!

The previous owner / garage has rounded off the poxy heads on the bolts that secure the carrier onto the hub!

Does anyone know what bolt size I require to replace these? And where's best to get them from?

Cheers folks.

Out of interest as well - what bit is required to get these off?

Not sure on the bolt size but to remove the bolts soak them with some penetrating oil preferably plus gas, if it's a normal hex head then I've had good success with a set of Irwin nut removers.

You may be able to find them cheaper but they are worth the money, I also brought the extension set. http://www.screwfix.com/p/irwin-bolt-grip-nut-remover-set-5-pieces/96028

M7 fits in but wobbles around.. M8 doesn't slop in and feels pretty firm - but I'm not sure whether it's due to the crap that's in there as they haven't been taken off since they left the factory.

It's a round headed bolt with the M8 inside.

A quick Google search showed that tool on some threads I've been reading through so may be the ticket.. !

Although I'm reluctant to put them back in so will need replacements.

N90740302 Is the part number of what you want.

Its M10X1,25X30

Ive got to tackle mine to upgrade and not looking forward to it. Think they are 8mm Allen from what i have gathered to remove.

Legend! 8mm would make sense.. it just won't grip in from all the crap in there and it's rubbish for access..

I've bought the Irwin tooling - and some new bolts.

Thank you both - perfect!

Usually an spline socket will knock in and get them out.
