Xenon lights flicker sometimes when driving

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My Skoda Octavia 2007 has xenon lights and sometimes they flicker (just for a fraction of a second so it´s almost hard to notice) when driving. Both right and left do it at the same time. It seems to happen easier if I drive over a small bump in the road. This doesn´t bother me so much but the cars that I meet might think I´m doing this on purpose.

Any idea what could be causing this? I have a VCDS, can I check something with that?

Could be a sign that the bulb is on its way out.

But it happens on both left and right side at the same time...

Cheapest option will be replace the bulbs first to eliminate them. I think I seen some sale in the classified section.

Otherwise may be the ballasts that are fault which are expensive.

I had a bulb a few months that occasionally went off complete and came back on again and a new bulb solved the problem. Also light output does reduce with age so new bulbs aren't a complete waste if your bulbs are quite old.
