Anyone got a link for the changing of the timing chain or tensioner in then 1.8tsi fitted in the 08 octavia Mk2 pre FL l&k?

Can't seam to find one.many thanks:)

I'd probably doubt it as its not really a DIY job.

You still have to strip down the timing case etc

Got the same car and if you're just worried about the tensioner failing, a couple of us are of the thought that it may well have avoided the BZB engine due to the way the oil is pumped around the engine. Look on the tensioner thread for 1.8 and you'll see what I mean.

I think I may be able to dispel that thought. I only bought the car 3 months ago but flicking through the history I found a receipt for new chain, tensioner, guides, headgasket and 5 new valves. Im not saying this is because the tensioner failed, but it definitely suggests it. Thanks
