What can I do to my 2.0?

Featured Replies

out of curiosity not that im planing much at the moment but what can i do to my 2.0 115bhp lump? that will improve performance?....

please dont suggest anything like a vrs or a diesle because its not what i have! :)

not a lot that's cheap

Green filter perhaps

I think a dog guard would suit it very nicely - see my ad in the for sale section ;) Think of it more as a "load area separator" that stps things flying at you in an accident.

On a serious note - tuning naturally aspirated cars is very expensive compared to turbo'd lumps. Given your age etc. it is probably not worth doing anything to it at all.

im just intreaged to know really.:)

thanks for the dog guard offer but im pritty sure some one else can give it a good home!

Looks nice already with those wheels! As far as performance goes, it's the same engine as the 2.0 MkIV Golf GTI, so maybe you'll get some ideas here?

HTH

Really, if you wanted to do that, you should have got the vRS. I realise its not what you wanted to hear, but there it is. I also realise it was more expensive, but if you are going to tune a 2.0 will there really be much difference in cost?

take the national trust sticker off.. they slow you down!!! :D :D :D

na on serious note... panel filter nd thats bout it really on 8v NA lump dunno if small remaps are available but insurance will be quite high... but then you are cheating by being on ur mums insurance so remap might be possible?

Mods to do.

Bigger exhaust

Less restrictive air filter

Maybe wider intake?

Thats pretty much the available mods, unless you fancy looking into bolt on turbo's or uprated cams and other internals. ;)

Think you are right J, thats about it without spending big pennies.

I suppose uprated cams aren't too expensive either.

And does your car actually look like your siggy, cos it looks decidedly p'chopped to me... ;)

Sarah,

What is custom-code?Is that a remap?

Should all tuning and performance companies be able to provide custom code or shall I send my car over to you by plane? :D 145BHP nd 145lb/ft ain't half bad at all :)

I'm sure the phase 1 could be done by simply posting the ECU to them. ;)

And how is phase two done?

Hi Sarah, do you do anything for a 1.6 75bhp?

Sorry for butting in btw
