Trailer -- coding problems with VCDS...locked

Featured Replies

Hello,

I posted another message in Octavia III thread but after several more errors with VCDS and lack of responses I think that this is best place for my question.

History: Octavia MK3 5E from july 2013, recently retrofited with fixed towing hitch. The electric kit is from E.Jaeger, I think it is vag OEM or westfalia, fully CAN compatible...I hope.

Part of my today log:

I configured the 69 Tráiler module for first installation,I added shop codes by default and the steps of Towbar electrics coding of this forum, but after codify with 0101000200000000, no more possble to modify tráiler module lonngcode, seems to be aplied but really not saved... locked !

How to modify tráiler code again? or reset default values? original long code was 010000000000000

Thanks for your help!!

P.S: I thing ABS malfunction is caused by tráiler module

You need to download the latest version of VCDS which is 15.7.4, your version 12 is quite old

Mine told me the last time there was an update so I'm surprised you have an older version, unless you declined the update for some reason

Its presumable, dont work with the newest vesions, could be a version issue?

The newer mkIII need the latest version of vcds to be able to change some things without issue.

Cheap vcds cables on eBay are fake with hacked software, you can't update them.

OK, my car is a 5E of first 2013 (MY14?) but I will try to get the latest VCDS versión.

I tried with a borrowed VCDS 15.7.4, it save ok all changes, and cleared all DTC' no fault codes, but in Installation list the trailer module ever show: 69-Trailer -- Status: Malfunction 0010 ,

into module 69 no faults codes founds and seems to work fine, detect trailer...light etc

Could be a module issue? is new from E.Jaeger, coding is the same that in my first post.

Unfortunately I do not have the complete log, go away with the laptop borrowed.

Any advise will be apreciated.
