Octavia Mk 1 Estate tyres

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I've not been on here for donkeys but having recently looked at my tyres, I need a bit of advice all of a sudden.  My Octy 1 Laurin & Klement has 16" rims, don't ask me the size exactly, it's late and I'm tired, and it's dark outside,

However, For the last year or two, I've been going to my local National Tyres gaff, it's only about a mile away, and they've been fitting Avon ZV5s.

I've had enough though, as I seem to be replacing these tyres every year in one way or another and I'm not impressed with NT quality anyway as I always have varying degrees of vibe through the steering wheel (since going there anyway), I digress however, these Avons don't last long in my opinion and I was wondering if you guys had a better idea of what I might try next.  I'm a bit heavy in the corners and my car has no aftermarket parts on regarding suspension/handling. It's also diesel, as I should imagine the way power is delivered might make a small difference.

Cheers in advance

Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance, swapped to these from my Continentals and have not looked back.

205/55R16W, based on them being the same as my Elegance.

Don't know what mileage you do, but I find I get about 12_000 from fronts and twice that from rears, normally driving at a fairly steady 60mph on single carriageway.

Or Dunlop Sport BluResponse. either have had good feedback from magazines and users
