Last chance saloon with this car

Featured Replies

Had a boost issue for a while, changedo pipes as I thought it was one coming loose. Flushed the intercooler today because a fair amount of oil was coming out when I changed the pipes.

I'm getting boost then loosing it again. Drove a good 20 miles with no boost.

Parked up for no longer than 5 min and took off again, but I had boost. And lasted till I got home.

It's very intermittent. It doesn't come and go when the cars running and it might not always come back when the cars been turned off for a bit.

Just don't know what else to do until my egr delete comes and see what happens. Not holding out hope though.

Sticking turbo vanes I'd say.

What's that? Haha sorry I'm not too good with mechanics. Learning as I go with help from the brother in law.

Hoping it's an easy fix to be honest. Don't have the money to plow into it just yet

Might get away with a clean or a new turbo.

Hopefully the clean. Seen someone use 2 bottles of red x and 5l of diesel to flush it.

Will be off the road if it's a turbo job. Shame it's only done 50k from new haha

You could always try the Mr muscle method to try and free up the vanes if they are sticking due to soot build-up. If it has done megga high mileage then the mechanism can have excessive play in it which can cause it to jam up also but in your case with 50K I suspect it would be ok.

Try and exercise the vanes yourself and see if that improves things at all. You never know it may be going into limp mode for a totally different reason, you should get it scanned with VCDS and see if that shows anything

Yeah that was the next call when my brother in law comes over with his. Could take months with him though so I'll hunt one out I reckon.

Cheers for the advice guys. Much appreciated
