Bolero Radio to Colombus Conversion?

Recommended Posts

How easy is it to do?

In regards to the fitting, does it require a fitting kit to sit in the existing console where the bolero sits?

Has anyone done this to an octy 2?

Common upgrade in Mk2 Octy and lots of info on here about it. Physically straightforward - pull Bolero out, unplug connector, plug in Columbus and GPS aerial and push it back and tighten screws. You will need a bit of coding with VCDS to tell the car you now have a columbus if you want all its functionality. Beware battery drain issue in pre 2008 cars and you may want to add a Fakra lead for pre facelift cars with single aerial input. As per previous post you will need a new fascia to finish it off.

Awesome!

Thanks for the help, i'm sure it's a worthwhile conversion, i currently don't have bluetooth audio streaming so i feel for the $1000 nzd for a module it will be similar for a whole new radio!
