Using PID discount vouchers

Featured Replies

Has anyone else struggled to use the discount vouchers which came with my PID? Despite downloading Fresh, and trying to use the codes given with the device the system gives up at the stage where you try and pay. I've tried several payment methods on several different occasions and the system either times out or registers an error whatever I do. Any suggestions or is this an illusory offer?

Didn't have any problems when i used it last Thursday, sorry cant help with your problem.

Well, I gave up in the end and have tried again today, but this time 'Fresh'/Skoda/Garmin tells me my codes are out of date and I will have to pay full fees to update the maps. I think this looks like a scam?

Its happened to a few of us, a quick call or email to navigon and they happily re-issued me with a working code. They could see it registered via the navigon account (I assume you have created) and are able to set it as a "new" device so it accepts the codes etc..

Thanks stooz, I did this, although it was not straightforward.

1) phone number and email not easily discoverable from the information I had

2) phoned a number suggested on website and it was no longer available

3) rang the dealers who gave me a working phone number but said they'd never heard of this problem

4) got through to Garmin who up dated the codes, but still can't transfer the downloads.

5) Garmin has now instituted a 'case' to investigate, requiring me to send screenshots and an XML file which I cannot find

I'm pretty fed up with all of this messing about and think it might be best just to throw away the Garmin PID and buy a decent satnav that works.

If you plug into a PC usb cable, the files appear as a window, so hopefully thats not to difficult.

The PID has 3 more features you dont get with a satnav (well some)

the mpg / mileage figures

a media (music) player

a handsfree phone system through the car speakers.

I appreciate a good satnav can do a lot of these as well.

the numbers I had were

0808 238 0000

(outside the UK 0370 850 1242) (rate depends on local provider).
