nokian weatherproof 91T's?

Featured Replies

Ratings (up to 190kph) inc wet grip and noise all seem pretty good for them in my octy's size (195/65 R15)

can get them for 64.50 a corner on tinterweb inc vat and delivery.

so, what are they like? I put firestones on last yr at 80/corner fitted and they are good but seem to have worn out a bit quicker than i thought they would (about 15000mls in 13months) very good in wet and dry, damp not as fantastic, so are yhe nokians as good???

I know someone on here uses them on his yeti, he really rates them, they have some pretty good reviews.

I'm really pleased with mine, though in a wider 225/50/17 profile (98V XL). They've been on since the end of August, and have done a bit over 6k miles now.

Absolutely brilliant in the damp & wet, though I discovered that they do have their limits when the Haldex clutch pump failed and started to get some wheelspin on slippery surfaces. The 8mm depth marker has worn out on the front, but is still just about visible on the rears, so wear seems good.

In the dry you can get them to break grip on hard cornering, but it lets go very progressively and gives predictable handling. No snow worth mentioning this winter, so I can't comment on that, other than my previous winter tyres were Nokian (WR A3s) and snow handling with those was excellent. As the Weatherproofs are winter tyres developed for all year round use i can't see them performing any worse than the old ones.

When I manage to keep the revs down they do gives slightly better mpg than the Dunlop SP01s that they replaced, and they are quieter and give a less ponderous feel to the steering.

If I had to replace them now, it would be with another set of the same, so I reckon they're good!
