i have a sticky o/s/r hand brake cable but looking to change both which i'm at it, are the cables both the same or different? some places i look at list different ones but then others list them as the same cable both 1450mm long.

 

anyone help?

They will both be the same. Not sure on the size though. I have a spare at home somewhere.

I had problems getting the old cable out of the guide tube. Ended up cutting the cable and Drilling out the end from the tube.

thanks for that trundlenut, i'll give everything a good soak in some WD40 type stuff before i get started and it helps! 

To be honest for the cost of them you may as well replace both. If you do just one side the new one isn't going to be as stretched as the 'still OK' old one. I know there is the compensater on the adjuster but still.

 

I had the same trouble as trundle too with old cable coming out.

 

Euro Car Parts do Pagid cables (these are the ones I bought) for about £30 the pair but with an 'active' code they will be cheaper. They are the same size but are listed as left and right. One is a quid more expensive than the other too.

Yes, a new one should only be £10-15.
