Highest milage fabia

How many miles has your car done?

So far I'm upto 177k

Mine is only on 110k, my mate's on 190k and a truck in work has clocked over 1m km. (not a typo)

Probably not my dad's X-reg (one of the first?) which has just turned 55k. :p

This thread seems to come up every 6 month or so, usually around 260,000 anyway!

My BLT engine has just run in nicely at 98k, and is a lot smoother and quieter than when I got the car at 93k. Seems to keep getting better.

Looking a bit more closely at Nigel's detailed costs you will see high repair bills, mostly after 117k miles.

The total at 266k miles was £45k:-
£9k purchase price inc. accessories
£19k on fuel
£17k on servicing and repairs

Looking at the first 5x 10k services these seem to cost ~£120 a time, so 10k services to 266k would be £3240.

This means that "repairs" have cost £13,760 and most of these arose after 117k miles.

This makes the argument that it might have been cheaper to buy a 2nd car at 117k miles to avoid all the parts that went faulty at higher milages.

In fact, allowing for part-exchange values, Nigel might have afforded 2 more Fabias over the 266k miles (3 cars in total) for the £14k he spent on repairs to one car.

Interesting perspective - diy repair would make a large difference of course.

Not the highest by a long chalk, but my 1.2 HTP just rolled past 150k (kilometers) last week.

240,000 on mine and it's still doing roughly 20,000 miles per year. I think doing a decent mileage every time it's started up (minimum of 35 miles) really helps the longevity. Incredibly I still can't find anything that I'd replace it with for SWMBO although I suspect that might change if it becomes unreliable. At which point, it would seem the Audi S1 is her preferred option as it's the only car she's driven that size that feels as quick. I didn't tell her it's 240PS vs. 150PS on the Fabia ;)

I hope you're right and I think you are. I've only had my beeza since December but like yourself every time I take it out I do at least half an hour on A and B roads, usually nearer an hour and it's already smoother and quieter than when I got it. Just turned 99k and the lump itself seems to be getting better all the time.
