pierburg 2e3 accelerator pump problem

Featured Replies

hi, i recently rebuild a pierburg 2e3 carburator and it turned out great, no vacuum leaks no nothing and lots of more power. though i have one problem with the accelerator pump, its leaking though i replaced it with a new one. its the 19mm version one, not the 13mm. i installed it correctly and tightened nuts snug as i can and i checked that it doesnt have tears or rips in the diaphragm. but it still leaks. it leaks from the lever of the housing not from the gasket area or the diaphragm. has this got to havee an o ringg to fit in the lever of the diaphragm or no?post-114994-0-37089900-1462124865_thumb.jpgpost-114994-0-17784000-1462124866_thumb.jpg

ok i managed to buy another diaphragm and the owner told me that im not supposed to tighten the too much, and this worked i tightened slowly the screws until they touched the housing then a few more to get them a bit "snug"
