MAF Sensor output signal voltage.

Featured Replies

In the never ending search for why my Octavia is down on power, and running super rough, I am back round to the MAF sensor. This is despite the fact that it is new, but because so much else has either been replaced or checked and because it is not a genuine VAG Bosch part (Replaced by garage and no Bosch branding on it).

Checked out the 12v, ground and 5v to the MAF sensor and all is well.

Onto the output signal:

With key in run position but engine off and MAF sensor plugged in:  output voltage =1v

With engine idling and MAF sensor plugged in:                                 output voltage =1.6v

I have the horrible feeling that this is OK but can't find figures to check against, any chance that it is a bad MAF sensor?

Any other checks I should do?

Thanks

Took more complete MAF Sensor output readings today.

Key in off position:                                      Output      0v

Key at run position, engine not turning:      Output     1.04v

At idle:                                                        Output      1.60v

1500 RPM:                                                  Output     1.95v

2000 RPM:                                                 Output      2.31v

2500 RPM:                                                 Output      2.70v

It would be glorious if someone could tell me that these figures show a faulty MAF sensor. I live in hope but have the horrible feeling that they are OK.

Thanks
