Hi can anyone tell me what the tool is that i need to remove the two nuts holding the back brake caliper holders on  as i want to renew my discs it looks like a spline but the the ones i have wont fit i have torx ones but feel a bit loose any help would be gratefull

cheers

Don't quote me but isn't it a T30 torx. I have a long one on a half inch drive socket. Can get from eBay and Halfords if really stuck.

It's not torx, it's a triple square or XZN bolt, M14 IIRC.

Hi did they work out strong enough as ive been told these are really tight ?

Yes, they were strong enough.

My issue was that I couldn't get the car high enough off the ground to be able to get enough leverage on the breaker bar.

Ps don't the disks come off without the calliper carriers being removed. If they are lose on the hub they will come away. Did this on my octavia and also the rears on a Golf Mark5.

On models with the smaller discs you can usually remove and replace the discs without removing the carriers.

On a 2006 unless it's a DSG then you should be OK.

Soon to be doing mine and mi e are the smaller ones so hoping it makes it a little easier.
