Lambda sensor again?

Featured Replies

Had my lambda sensor B1S1 replaced in Oct 2015 with a P2196 error - signal too high (rich)

Just got EML and codes showing the following:

2 faults found: 008785 Lambda sensor B1S1 Negative Lead

P2251 - 000 Open circuit

004374 Lambda sensor Heating B1S1

P1116 - 000- open circuit MIL ON

Any ideas?

Thanks

seems to have been a cable issue, VW assist managed to get the probe working and then checked the cable, which was resting on the exhaust manifold by the dpf clamp.

It seems that when in workshop for dpf gasket issue (many times) the cable was not put back in it's proper clip, but left lying on top of the manifold, and exposed to the heat.

I'll see how it goes from here...

Well skoda checked the cable and it looks ok, with no obvious damage, so looks like the sensor is kaput after only 12k.

It was a genuine TPS part, so now my independant is saying that it had to be diagnosed and replaced by a main dealer under TPS warranty, at no cost to me.

Apparently, any part over £50 has to be tested by a main dealer and fault confirmed, according to TPS.

Booked in for monday, so let's see how that goes. I am not expecting to pay anything.
