X-Box for folding ?????

Featured Replies

OK so now I have an Xbox360, which leaves me a an original blackbox xbox

and I got to wondering -- is there some way I could use this for folding ?? and if so would it be any good ??

How would I do it ??

All the folding process power helps -- so if its feasable I don't mind doing it.

is probably your best starting point. Ask around here and someone (typically Mike :D) will be able to answer any Linuxey questions.

i dont know if it will be possible....

in theory you can run linux on an xbox and iirc there is a linux folding client... so maybe....

It would need to be chipped , and have Linux installed on it , but as it's just a PIII 733 processor with 64mb RAM it won't set the world alight.

Oh , and if it is chipped , do you fancy selling it?

im selling my chipped xbox....

How much , and has it had a bigger hard drive fitted?

I have a standard one but I wouldn't mind a chipped one to use for playback of downloaded video files

Ooops - Hijack(ish)

If you did not get a chipped one, xecutor mod chips have just gone solderless, I am using an xecuter III in mine with a 200GB ide disk, no probs with x-vid / div-x and PAL / NTSC games, all stored on the disk. Mines running linux as well as an N64 emulator (great for Wave racer)

I don't think you need to chip it to install Linux. See the link above.

Nope, but you do for games etc m8, which is what mine is mainly used for, nice to keep the disks in the cupboard somewhere out of the reach of the gruesome twosome (4 yr old twins) and just play the odd game off the disk.

Sorry. I should have quoted Alex's post, which I was answering, in an attempt to answer Dave's original question:

Oh , and how much do they cost?
