Bolero Radio problem

Featured Replies

Hi there

I have searched for this and aware there could be a problem with the antenna base, the radio on the diagnostic setting, says antenna 1 off and antenna 2 on,but when I pull the fuse 8 and wait a bit the antenna 1 says on.

I thought that fixed it (the bad signal) but on restarting, antenna 1 says off again.

Could anyone tell me where it connects or if it does?

Thanks

Maybe better in the Technical Section under ICE, sorry I don't have a Bolero radio.

There is certainly a history of all VAG models having problems with the aerial/antenna base but they don't accept it is a problem.

I've had the one on my Yeti replaced and my wife's Mii has also been replaced. Mine has since gone wrong again but as the headlining has to be dropped to replace the base SUK or rather their Service Agent are making threatening noises that if it turns out not to be the antenna base I will have to pay a lot of money!

I've pointed that the symptoms are they same as when they replaced it last time (14 months ago) they won't do anything unless I agree to these terms. Where in the past I would have accepted this as I had been a customer for 5 years and knew the Service Receptionist and trusted him. However he has been promoted upstairs and is not accessible and his replacement works by the book and is being very inflexible.

My custom is going elsewhere!

Surely if that's their attitude yours should be "the car is under warranty, there is a fault, your job is to diagnose and fix it"

That would be my view as well.

It's a matter of confidence and I've no longer got any in that agent.

I will pursue it but not via that route.

I think that I can understand, from the history, how you must feel.  A good dealer service department are worth there weight in gold and can make the difference when it comes to a replacement car.

Make an official complaint to Skoda UK,they may well have a word with the dealership.
