Hi Guys,

My name is Rich, I'm from Bristol and I have just picked up a 2011 Octavia VRS Estate.

I spent ages looking at them, trying to find the right car / mileage / spec and settled on this one, its Petrol, DSG and has the leather interior with only 23,000 on the clock. Unfortunately Skoda ownership hasn't started well for me as this morning, after one week of ownership, the car went into limp home mode and has been diagnosed with the dreaded HPFP failure, don't you just love Friday 13th!

Oh well, I'm sure its just a small speed bump, other than that I love the car.

I'm also a Mountain Biker and I dabble with other toys of the 2 wheeled variety (bike track days and I'm building a Café Racer from a Ducati ST4).

that's enough waffle from me for the moment.

low battery indicated remove battery check voltage if 3v clean battery around the area where the contacts touch and the contacts also isopropal will do refit battery will save a new one

Have come to use the A/C for the first time this past week and noticed that pressing the button for the recirculating air doesn’t appear to work. Button presses but nothing happens it doesn’t light up and stays off Also through the media center doesn’t do anything, wondering if anyone has come across this before? Or is it a trip to Skoda?

Hi all, finally got around to getting some new shoes ordered for the girl. I'm getting a set of Hankook Ventus Evo K137 235/45 ZR18 98Y XL put onto the Pegasus alloys. I was considering changing out the locking wheel nut for just a regular nut? Which then prompted the second question, I picked up a set of Alcar 9021 17inch Steelies for Winter Tyres, do I need to run seperate nuts due to the alloy v steel nature? What it says on the tin, really; recently my oil warning light came on, flashed a few times, made a really loud intermittent beeping sound, and then turned off again. This happened several times during a journey, but actually stopped after a little while. I checked the oil level, and its fine, so I reckon it's an issue with the oil pressure sensor/switch (I did get an OBD tool, but that came up as no error codes, so I'm really in the dark here).
