I've atached a pic of my latest mod - new Beetle gearknob

Needed modifying (base from old 1 fitting to new 1 as the bases are different sizes) - gear patterns same so it looks standard

Yeah, the bases are usually ordered seperately and may not fit the Fabia anyway. I wanted to fit a Beetle Kn0b to my old Leon Cupra a few years ago, and the base wouldn't fit due to the shape of the console. You can buy chrome look or silvery bases from VAG or VAGPARTS etc.
