I have just had to have the throttle unit on my Octavia vRS replaced at 42000 miles:thumbdwn: . The emission control unit had also failed in the first 20k miles. At 32000-33000 i also had to have the faulty coil packs replaced - could this all be linked?

Interesting... What were the syptoms of the throttle body failure?

My is not rough at idle, but when I first got it in July it was so smooth it was hard to tell it was running either by noise or vibration, now there is just a slight hint of hunting at idle.

The symptoms were that the yellow ECS warning light came on, with the engine very slightly rough. The dealer traced the ECS warning to a throttle fault.
