Upper grill replacement

Featured Replies

Hello everybody.

I'm interested about the upper grill replacement. Has any of you guys replaced it for some reason? How did you secured it to the bumper? It's plastic welded to it and I just can't find out how/who would be able to do that. Or is there any other method? Many thanks.

Shouldn't this be in the Octy 2 section, unless Johnny has a Mk 3 as well?

I really don't know what language should I use to make people understand what I was asking for???

Grill replacement! NOT GRILL SURROUND! I've got Octavia mk3 that's why I posted here.

So once again: How to replace the whole grill which already has the surround on?

Remove bumper.

Seems to me that the grille and bumper are plastic welded to eachother.

Here is a topic about grille Replacement.

Dear Sir

Sorry for all the trouble we have caused you. Since you cant use Google, or use the search button, feel free to be unpolite and use our spare time. No trouble at all.

Best regards from Norway.

Your profile says you have a Skoda Octavia II. Not an Octavia III. That's why I questioned where you posted.

And frankly if that's how you respond to well-meaning offers of help, even though they did not answer your question to your satisfaction, then you're not welcome on here. We often disagree with each other but are never rude.

So easy to offend people nowadays. It's not my fault if somebody doesn't read the question properly. I can use Google and I can use the search button but no answer for my question.

Indeed my profile shows Octavia II but just because I haven't changed it. Plus that car has the grill mounted to the bonnet and I mentioned that mk3 is welded to the bumper.

Nobody force you to waste your spare time answering.

Peace :p

From one link;

, I ordered the new grille which arrived yesterday. A quick visit to Steve at http://www.plastics-surgery.com/ and it has been fitted for £70+VAT. Getting the bumper on and off was evidently pretty fiddly. The grill is actually plastic-welded to the bumper but Steve was able to melt the old weld and fit the new grille in place just as the designer intended. At his suggestion, and because I had enough material left over from the original repair, Steve bonded expanded metal mesh to the back of the grille. It adds a bit of extra protection from flying stones and might also deter anyone from trying to cut the new grille out.

So its welded on.

The other link is how to get the bumper of

Well. So now you know. Good luck Sir.

Maybe you should change your profile.

So easy to apologise too when you give offence. A pity you seem unable to do so, especially after your second post.
