I dont suppose anyone knows how to update the satnavs or have them updated? Seems as though when i use mine now with the disc in thats provided the sat nav doesnt work correctly like it once did, the arrow just seems to 'float' over roads and fields etc in one direction doesnt follow roads in the slightest if you know what i mean

Im afraid the official way is to buy the update from a dealer which costs an absolute fortune! I believe you can buy unofficial copies on Ebay etc for a cheaper price but I dont know how good/safe they are. Is your unit an Amundsen+? If so, I think it should be updated via memory card rather than disc. I may be wrong though, because you may have an older unit and it may function differently. Im sure someone will come on here soon and correct me though.

As above maps are pre installed and updated by a single use SD card. If you hold down the set up button it will tell you what version you are on. V6 I think is the latest worthwhile update. V7 isn't a big update but V8 next year will be a fair one from what I've been told.

Yeh the maps on mine aint built in, its all ran from a disc. Its a 2011. Bit of a strange one really as i thought the maps would have been built in until i bought the car.

I'd maybe try another disc and if that fails then the gps aerial could be faulty?

took 3 hours to update! shows its v8 on the system screen can't work out how to turn on the speed camera alerts though? Also seems to include all the temp speed limits around the M8 and M74 work up here

Turn key and put card in without engine running?

Will the battery be OK like that for a 3hr update?

And what happens if you turn the ignition off part way through installation?

Basically, I don't have a drive or garage so I just went to a drive through then a drive for abit.

If you turn off the ignition it will keep updating but will stop when you pull the key out but it picks up from where it left of.

You can't use the sat nav when it's updating too

The OPS radio is an RNS310 as its the normal Amundsen radio so make sure you get the correct map update for the corresponding radio!
