Isn't it a clutchless system? Mk1 Fabia is, and I can't see them having 'undone' that. A solenoid valve varies the pump displacement somehow, I think I read. So it's always pumping at a few % of capacity, even when off.

I don't know to be honest??

It is! (a clutchless system)

So you re-gassed this system or at least got someone to regas it, if so, why did they not make sure that it was operating correctly?

This type of compressor is known as a variable displacement type.

It turns continously and is regulated using a control valve which operates via ECU pulse width modulated signals in conjunction with the pressure sensor readings.

Always running at 2% to keep the seals lubed!

Had it done with Kwik Fit at least I didn't have to pay :-/  is there a hack for climatronic on Skoda's that tests the A/C ..i've seen the hack on A/Cs with econ on but not with no econ button because i think its a flap problem and they said that the econ button trick tests all the flaps and A/C doesn't put strain on the engine like dropping a few revs ,,I'm flummoxed
