Underlay or Sound Mat?

Recommended Posts

So looking at a bit of sound reduction. Under the rear seats and of course, being an estate, the rear floor, under the spare etc

Standard carpet underlay (cheap and alot of it) has been mentioned, but thinking this is ok for under seats and carpet (well yeah) but wont be tidy.

Sound mat, like Dodo Mat (https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiXpNiD5PTMAhVmFMAKHT6kDy8QFggfMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.deadening.co.uk%2Fcollections%2Fdodo-mat&usg=AFQjCNHGeAXNF6MvxibVauw2MlrPJGJGbQ&bvm=bv.122676328,d.ZGg ) trimmed for beneath the spare wheel will look neater.

What about neoprene and if so what thickness?

Any other ideas?

(not looking at pads like silent coat, looking at flooring that can be added and removed for cleaning)
