1.8 Engine - at what "age" are these engines OK?

Featured Replies

Hi,

thinking of gettign a 1.8 petrol, but obviously concerned about past history. At what "year" (if any) were these problems resolved?..ie if I get a 2012 model will this engine be Ok?..or all they all potentials for failure?

Opt for the BZB.Avoid the CDAA.Extremely high oil consumption.

As stated, earlier BZB appears to be the pick.

My CDAA Superb seems ok - 5 year old and 16.7K on the clock. No oil lights... (Yet)

No oil lights at all on the BZB. ;)

Mine must be CDAA! How do I check?

It's the first part of the engine number so it'll be on the original Skoda reciept and service log book.

EDIT: might be on the sticker on the drivers door and elsewhere around the car but I took that sticker off from new.
