Suspect Alarm Siren

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia MK2 on a 12 plate owned since March 2015. A siren sounded while driving yesterday, twice, although I had stopped and parked in between. A 2 tone wailing willy, which I presume was the alarm siren, I've never triggered the alarm system. (There's a lesson when buying a car always check it). I wasn't able to stop it, pulled over, got out locked car unlocked car after alarm system activated, siren just kept going. It sounded intermittently for about 5 -10 minutes then stopped by itself. The alarm siren does not sound when system is triggered, the indicators flash so system appears to be working. Code reader shows no error codes!

I suspect the siren itself is faulty, but where is it? And is a 2 tone siren standard fitting or an after market model fitted by the previous owner.

Any one had this before, your help will be appreciated.
