i just got one of these from my mate and connected it up to the ignition feed and sadly after the car was turned off for a few hours it needed to be setup again for the journey home.

obviously i'll need connect it to the permanent feed but i'm worried that if i leave it plugged in over night its going to rain the battery, anybody have any experience of these?? it's a micro i think

Hi Bengie if This is what you have it looks like it uses about 120mA typically. I think i read somewhere that that a load of 100mA or more overnight could leave your battery crically low by morning in the winter althought I leave my laser detector on permanently c/w lcd backlight and have never had any problems. Not sure of the load though.

thats the fella i have but i have asked my local audio place today and they said its supposed to be wired off the ignition so maybe i didn't do it wrong in the end :)

Does it have a backup battery in? Maybe needs replacing/full charge from being powered by ignition for bit longer?

maybe the backup battery is knackered!

oh didn't bother reading the post before. ignore my last post

apparently its what they do :)

apparently its what they do :)

Thats a bit of a poor show. I have the opposite problem. My Sat Nav is built into my PDA and it sometimes turns itself on in my pocket. There's nothing more embarrassing the your PDA saying 'Bear left on A55' at top volume in the middle of a meeting.
