VRS ABS/ESP fault, scan shows 1K0907379AC fault?

Featured Replies

My ABS light has been on for a week or so, just scanned with my father-in-law's Delphi scanner and it came back with a 1K0903379AC fault, which would appear to be the ABS pump.

A quick Google seems to suggest that this is a reasonably common (and potentially expensive!) problem, but there do seem to be fixes out there - http://www.sinspeed.co.uk/abs-pump-esp-fault-brake-pressure-sender-sensor-switch-failure/

Can anyone advise me before I start spending any money? Cheers.

That looks more like a modual number or unit part number than a fault code. If it is pressure switch in abs unit they can be fixed. I have used ecu testing before in Derbyshire

Well it failed it's MOT today due to the ESP light being on, got it booked into VW tomorrow for a £85 diagnostic check, hopefully it's a G201 fault and they're feeling generous - http://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=15317

If it's the g201 fault it should cost no more than £400 to fix these days.

Skoda will normally contribute towards repair and from my vast experience of this topic the original pump cam be repaired within 10 minutes using the genuine repair kit rather than a 3rd party.

Thanks for the reply, not as bad as the £1300+ that Google brought up. Still waiting for the diagnostic results, hopefully it's a simple fix. :)

The diagnostic has come back to say that I need a new pump at £1200, when I mentioned the 1K0 698 517 B repair kit, both VW and Skoda have said that this kit isn't suitable for my engine, can anyone please advise ASAP? :(

I'm just on my way to collect the car and the report, they didn't specifically mention G201, I'll double check and confirm once I've picked it up.

Just to update, they eventually conceded that the repair kit DOES fit my car and it's booked in for Tuesday, £500 all in, far better than the £1800 or so that they initially wanted...

I got part for £180 (skoda dealer on Ebay) and had it fitted at an indy for about £350 all in.
