CD changer help

Featured Replies

Hi guru's!

I was quoted around 500 pound for a CD changer to be fitted to my fabia comfort 1.9tdi hatch. I have seen 6 CD changers on fle bay for around 100 pound. My head unit is the standard 502 one that comes with the car. How easy is it to fit one of these myself, remember i havent attepmted this before. Is it worth it?

If the CD changer came with brakets, were should it be fitted? and also what cables would be needed?

Thanks again for your help!

Si

Also it says leads included, so would this mean the lead long enough to reach my H/U?

Sorry for the silly questions, i just dont want to tackle it and me coming stuck :)

You can find the part numbers for the items required to retrofit under the seat on a Fabia on my website.

The one's I've fitted , I've attached them to the back of the seat , and the cables are easily long enough.

Give them a ring , they are very helpful.

If I were you, I would seriously consider an HU that plays mp3 CDs, if you have a PC to write them.

cheers for the help guys! its most appreciated.

do you know of any online guides to fitting one?

But i will give it a bash none the less :p

To retrofit requires the removal of the seat. The only other big part would be to drop the glovebox which is simple and run the cable from the changer to the headunit. The lead will have a mini ISO connector ready for the headunit - Assuming it is Changer compatible.
