First Skoda!

Featured Replies

So i've just put a deposit down on my first Skoda, a 13 Plate Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI 105... But I don't pick it up until a week on Saturday! It's going to be an agonising wait!!

Saw it and liked it, tested it and loved it! The only thing I could fault was the steering seemed very light but apart from that I was really happy with it, they shift for a 1.2 as well, was very impressed. A lot different to my previous car, a 2.8 Ford Capri so it's going to take some getting used to.

Includes the built in Sat Nav which is handy too.

Can't wait!

Welcome to the forum.

Enjoy.

The tyre pressures might need adjusted they could be too high.

& whatever tyres fitted can make a difference.

Then there is Steering Assist, even a Disability Setting with more assistance,

so you need to check if steering assistance is at Factory Setting or changed from that.

If it's got maxidot it'll be a tech version.

The steering feels light in my monte too compared to other cars so I wouldn't worry about it!

A Ford 2.8 Capri? Nice, except for the mpg and the back end overtaking you on a damp roundabout....   :)

Thanks everyone, really looking forward to picking it up. It is the tech version so has the maxi dot etc.

Yeah, the Capri was good fun but to expensive for a daily... not exactly a sensible daily either haha

My first Škoda was a mark 2 and I really loved it, 70,000 miles and just front brakes replaced.

See my avatar (left) with our fabulous five Fabias.
