How is the level when the engine is off? If it correct, then the cause may be as below. If the oil level has dropped, this may indicate any number of mechanical issues.

In engines with insufficient baffling oil can slop up the side of the sump letting the oil pump collect air bubles that will drop the oil pressure. In cases where the top end oil return is blocked partially, or where a breather is not functioning correctly, oil can be trapped in the cambox area and leave the sump under filled. This is usually only a problem on old engines that have sludged up or sometimes on engines where someone has fitted an induction kit and not replaced, or worse still blanked off the breather.

Check it one morning when the engine is cold as this will give a better reading.

Sounds a bit dodgy though, low/no oil can cause premanent damage - might be worth topping up then driving to a garage to see if they can find the problem :thumbdwn:

Hate to upset you mate but there are lots of 1.4 16v fabias needing piston rings replaced, the rings are wearing out. The coolant usualy stays pink and you dont notice much smoke. Its the oil control rings that go. Take it to skoda, let em double check.
