Hi Richard,

Very new owner of a vRS here too. I picked up my 2013 Octavia vRS TSI 220 DSG on Tuesday. I'm absolutely loving the quality and drivability of the Octavia in this form. What do you think of yours?

I'm changing from an A3 2.0 TDI DSG which I never considered a slouch but this car's in an entirely different league to it. I also have a Porsche 968 (so did the chap I bought the vRS from!) and would agree with his judgement that the Škoda is nippier than the Porsche.

Worth thinking of going to the Briskoda Festival 30/31 July, it's in your area and looks like it will be a good event for we new members. Wraps a few trade stand purchases to scratch the upgrade itch?!

Hi Pilot,

Very impressed with the quality and finish of the VRS, Ive moved from a 2005 M3 coupe so a slight change need for a few more miles per gallon and some room for 2 dogs letalone an ever expanding needs to be done list meant the M3 unfortiunatly had to go.

The mid range 30 - 80mph (oops did i say that  outloud) is very impressive wafting along on the TDI tourque. The launch control on the DSG is fun though you do get some strange looks sitting with a diesel revving to 2.5k at the traffic light grandpix. The better hlf has an 08 Golf GT170 so i knew you can get a move along with the 170 diesel.

I was looking at the festival will try and get down there it looks like it will be a good day.

Youll be seeing my bright green VRS flying down the A30 in August for our annual pilgrimage to the cornish coast along with the Bay window (less flying from the old girl though.

How does the DSG compare coupled to the TSI as apposed to the TDI?

The DSG box is great. I've had 5 years and 60000 miles driving the Audi with it and I still like its various modes. It suits the petrol as well as it does the diesel, the Audi was always quickly up to 6th in D (I'm not a fan of the S mode) now with this car I've noticed I'm driving around in lower gears most of the time. More torque in the diesel I suppose.

Which bit of Cornwall are you coming to? Wouldn't be for the VW Jam if you're bringing a Bay, would it?

We are heading to Perranporth, not for any shows no, just a week away with the dogs and friends. Just love that corner of the world though i have to say the M5 and A30 are two long ass roads in a 37yo van.

Well if you've got the vRS too have a look to see if there are any events on at the airfield that coincide with your visit. I think they're holding drag and drift session regularly now.
