Starting problems 2004 fabia vrs

My partner drove me to work this morning .on her way home the car cut out and couldn't get it started. She tried so much the battery died. She connected a jump start battery eventually got it started for a few seconds then it died. When she manages to get it started it stays on until the revs drop to idle then it cuts out. Also the oil light beeps and comes on before she starts the car. She put more oil in its now between the low and high mark but the light remains on.

Any thoughts?
