Windows Phone & bluetooth issue

Featured Replies

Got a bit of a strange issue with my work windows phone and my Octavia.  The phone pairs with the car no problem but if I make a call or receive one people can't hear me and I can't hear them, which is obviously quite annoying.  When I first got the car in Jan 2015 it was fine but it just stopped working recently and I can't work out why.  I've even swapped out the handset to see if that was the issue but it hasn't resolved it.

I also have an iPhone and that works perfectly, so I'm not really sure where the problem lies and was hoping someone here could give me some pointers.

Car is a VRS and I have a Columbus sat nav if that helps.

Cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

I have this occasionally, and i just have to reboot my phone.

Its wierd that i never have the problem with my phone and any other bluetooth headset, just the octavia.

Is there a setting for Windows phone to choose whether phonecalls are sent to the Bluetooth audio device or to the phone ?

I've had the problem with my android phone where it was using the phone mic & speaker. (You can test this by enabling the loudspeaker on your phone during a call or hold the phone in your hand during the call - whilst stationary obviously... ;))

Alternatively, If you go to the Skoda update portal & enter your VIN they may have an update available for the Bluetooth module for Columbus.

Its only 2mb or so.

I'm not sure if its will fix your issue but perhaps worth trying as part of your investigation.

I installed it on mine before finding the option for call output in my phone but haven't noticed any changes in behaviour of bluetooth connection.

I had this problem too.

If you go to the bluetooth settings on your phone, click on the Advanced button and then ensure the 'Use an alternative Bluetooth audio connection for speech' option is ticked, that should sort it.

It's worked for me at least!
